Balance Point

The point on the cue located about 18 inches from the butt of cue; the cue would stay level if held with one hand at the balance point

Bank Shot

When an object ball is being pushed to one or more rails before sinking to a pocket

Bed of Table

The playing area on the table within the cushions

Break

Breaking Violation

A violation of the games rules which apply specifically to the opening break shot

Bridge

The use of the front hand to control the shaft of the cue

Butt of Cue

The opposite of the tip in the cue
